Y Garden House

Set within the green heart of Boa Vista Estates, a development by JHSF, this residence reveals an architecture that does not seek protagonism and instead privileges the sophistication of silence. Designed by Sig Bergamin and Murilo Lomas, the house establishes an intimate relationship with the landscape, in which form, sequence, and materiality operate in an integrated way. Conceived as a single-storey pavilion with a continuous, curving footprint, the architecture organizes the spaces around the garden and the water feature, creating a fluid sequence of environments that encourages social interaction and softens the transition between indoors and outdoors. The curve structures the project and fulfills an essential role: it protects the private areas, enhances the social spaces, and guides the principal views. Generous glass planes, combined with timber brise-soleil, filter natural light and ensure thermal and visual comfort throughout the day. The green roof contributes to the environmental performance of the residence and reinforces its discreet insertion into the site. The landscape design, conceived as an inseparable part of the architecture, creates an atmosphere of contemporary retreat, in harmony with the proposed way of living. Still in development, the project expresses the studio’s approach. An architecture of precise proportions, rigorous attention to detail, and solutions that privilege well-being, permanence, and a sensitive relationship with place.
