Classical Courtyard House
This residential project, currently in development by Sig Bergamin and Murilo Lomas, stems from a reflection on the urban house within the context of the city of São Paulo. The design adopts a more restrained presence toward the street while concentrating openness and spatial complexity within the interior of the plot. The architectural composition engages with classical principles reinterpreted through a contemporary language. Colonnades, continuous verandas, balustrades, and a balanced organization of volumes structure the architecture, lending order, rhythm, and legibility to the overall composition. The project is organized around the courtyard and swimming pool, which assume a central role in the life of the house. Social areas are arranged around these open spaces, creating continuity between indoor and outdoor environments. Covered galleries and transitional spaces extend daily use and contribute to environmental comfort. A light material palette, careful detailing, and the integration of landscape design establish a serene and timeless atmosphere. Vegetation plays an active role in the spatial experience, shaping circulation, framing views, and reinforcing the overall quality of the spaces.
