Tropical Beach Home

Under the shade of Miami Beach palm trees, the 1928 cottage revitalized by Sig Bergamin confirms its place on Elle Decor’s A‑List 100. Mint‑green walls embrace a ballet of patterns: George Smith sofas in tropical foliage, navy ikat on a rattan chaise, floral cushions on vintage chairs. At the center, a cube clad in a hundred tiles painted by Adriana Varejão radiates tactile art. The coral foyer showcases a Louis XIV throne dressed in chintz beneath a Troy Lighting chandelier; in the living room, photographs by Bruce Weber and drawings by Ivald Granato converse with academic portraits and an almost life‑size scarlet parrot. Indian dhurrie rugs soften the step, while bamboo mirrors and emerald vases reflect the light filtered through the old sash windows. The vibrant palette breathes between raw wood and neutral curtains, composing a setting that Sig describes as “relaxed”: a morning visit to the market, friends at the table, a routine without pomp—proof that living surrounded by color and personality can indeed feel light and spontaneous.
