Miami Pied à Terre
In this oceanfront apartment, Sig Bergamin and Murilo Lomas channel the spirit of Miami without relying on its clichés. Shades of blue drawn from the surrounding seascape guide the palette, layered with off-whites, leather, stripes, and precisely detailed metal accents. In the living room, a mix of fabrics, patterns, and textures creates a composition that feels both graphic and effortless. The Classic Sofa and a pair of Newton Club Chairs with matching ottomans, designed by Patrick Naggar for Ralph Pucci, anchor the space, while rounded leather armchairs and a brass coffee table and side table by Mônica James introduce material contrast. Above the striped sofa, Nymphéas, After Claude Monet, Pictures of Magazines 2 (2013) by Vik Muniz establishes the room’s visual focal point, translating the maritime setting into the language of contemporary art. The project is defined by its careful balance of color, texture, design, and imagery, offering a refined interpretation of waterfront living.
