New York Home
In the heart of Manhattan, with cinematic views of the MoMA Sculpture Garden and the New York skyline, the apartment embodies a vision of home that is both intimate and theatrical. Located in a tower designed by César Pelli, the 160-square-meter pied-à-terre was reconfigured to embrace not only rest, but also emotion and self-expression. Upon entry, the crystalline presence of a glass box without curtains reveals vibrant vistas that turn the city into a permanent work of art. The atmosphere is defined, in Sig’s words, as “nocturnal, cozy, and sexy, with borogodó,” celebrating contrast, texture, and color with confidence and cohesion. In the living room, walls clad in lacquered African wood create a deep, sophisticated backdrop for a mix of faux furs, mirrored glass, and iconic furniture, including the Jules armchair by George Smith and the Dives sofa by Antonio Citterio for Maxalto. A vintage Gio Ponti sideboard and artworks ranging from Basquiat to Damien Hirst reinforce a layered and exuberant visual narrative. The dining room, with a Hudson Furniture table and rock crystal details, engages directly with the urban landscape, while the main bathroom in white marble offers a luminous pause from the intensity of the interiors. This New York apartment is more than a residence. It is a reflection of its owners’ multifaceted personalities, where art, design, and city converge in a space that is sophisticated, expressive, and unmistakably alive.
