Bal Harbour Apartment
Conceived as a seaside retreat for a family Sig and Murilo have worked with for more than two decades, the project transforms the apartment into a welcoming home. The sea guides the composition through light surfaces, tactile textures, and a palette of blues. In the living areas, a navy-and-off-white rug with an organic pattern anchors the furnishings, including blue bouclé sofas and organically shaped armchairs.
The curation combines mid-century icons and contemporary pieces, with highlights including Vladimir Kagan, Patrick Naggar, and a set of Yves Klein tables. Entirely in marble, the bar asserts itself as an architectural element, paired with a glass-plate chandelier and a blown-glass vase. The palette of blues, greens, and neutrals continues into the private quarters: in the primary suite, it appears as a light base with deeper accents; in the second suite, a soft green is punctuated by a Kelly Wearstler table lamp. Works by Gerhard Richter, Alex Katz, Damien Hirst, and Tom Wesselmann run throughout the interiors and, together with blown-glass objects, vintage ceramics, and sculptures, reveal Sig’s signature layering of styles and eras, elevating each space to the level of a living manifesto where art, materiality, and time converge in full force.
